I Made A Blythe Doll Phone Case!
and a matching pull sting keychain!
I’ve reached a new level of crazy doll lady by making a phone case with a picture of my Blythe doll. I was inspired by the Blythe phone case from the ‘I’m Sorry’ by PETRA COLLINS X JENNY FAX collaboration to make this phone case. Since I’m not someone who can afford to buy a new Blythe doll willy-nilly, I have to find other creative ways to implement my love for this doll. I already started a journal for my dolls, opened a Blythestagram, post Blythe-related videos on my YouTube, and of course, this Substack!
I filmed the whole process of me creating thos cute Blythe phone case on my YouTube, so go watch the video if you’re more of a visual person.
I used this photo of Lavender because I wanted my case to be bright and colorful, and I think that photo worked wonderfully. Using a piece of pink construction paper, I traced around my iPhone so that I could use this piece as a base to place all the decorative elements in the case without them falling off. I’m a bit of a stationery addict so I used stickers and washi tape from my collection to decorate the case. Instead of permanently sticking anything to the case, I used rolled-up strips of washi tape to adhere everything because I may want to eventually redecorate the case.
To give the phone case some texture, I stuck on some heart-shaped diamond hearts and a pink ribbon. I also attached a silver heart-shaped charm keyring so that I could add the special keychain I made specifically for this project.
To create this keychain, I used the same colorful beads that I used for May’s pullstring to make the matching pullstring keychain, I used an ‘I’ instead because I ran out of the letter ‘L’. I also found May’s original peach-colored pull ring that all standard Blythe dolls come with. Since I wasn’t using it for anything, I tied it to the keychain. This way, I could infuse more Blytheness to the keychain. I loved how it turned out!
Stay tuned to see what over ways I find to incorporate Blythe doll into my life that doesn’t involve buying a new doll! haha
