'I’m Sorry' by PETRA COLLINS X JENNY FAX SSENSE Exclusive Collection ~ OMG!
Oh my, oh my god! When K-pop meets Blythe, meets fashion!

When I saw pictures of NJZ (formally known as the popular K-pop girl group, New Jeans) members with a bag with the close-up face of a Blythe doll I almost fell off my chair! After several minutes and of taking a deep dive, I found out the bag was designed by Petra Collins in collaboration with Jenny Fax. It was so awesome to see three of my favorite things K-pop, fashion, and of course, Blythe dolls come together!
This wouldn’t be the first time the Blythe dolls were featured in a fashion collection. Back in 2009, Alexander McQueen launched a collection for Target and used Blythe dolls in their campaign. Later in the mid 2010s Irregular Choice released a shoe collaboration featuring some Blythe on their shoes. And of course, there are Blythe doll and fashion designer collaborations all the time, Keita Maruyama being the most recent one. So, Blythe dolls are no strangers to being involved in the fashion world, I mean a dolly this unique deserves to be a muse! haha
Petra Collins is a multi-talented Canadian artist, photographer, director, and designer who has worked with many notable brands and celebrities. She’s directed popular music videos for artists such as Olivia Rodrigo, Cardi B, and Selena Gomez, to name a few. She’s also worked on campaigns for NewJeans and Blackpink. If you visit her website and take a look at her work you’ll probably recognize some of her work! She loves collecting Blythe dolls which is why they made an appearance in her two recent ‘I’m Sorry’ drops.
I love collecting pretty much anything cute or haunted. Blythe Dolls are perfect because they are the right amount of kawaii and scary. I spend hours every night looking at them on eBay and Etsy. This helps me sleep and I feel like it soothes my anxiety, and possibly helps with my insomnia.
This is the fifth drop of ‘I’m Sorry’ by Petra Collins. In past drops, Petra partnered with past designers but for drop 5 she has collaborated with Jenny Fax, a Tokyo-based label by Jen Fang. The collection is available online exclusively on SSENSE with a pop-up at 032c Gallery Seoul.
Drop 5 of ‘I’m Sorry’ by Petra Collins X Jenny Fax is inspired by girl group culture aesthetic and pop-idol fandom with looks inspired by what schoolgirls would wear like layering tracksuits under their uniforms.

Along with the release of the 5th ‘I’m Sorry’ drop, they also released a fashion zine featuring the Blythe dolls Suri Sustainable and Angelica Eve! The booklet features the original clothing designed by Petra and Jen with miniature versions of the clothing to fit Blythe dolls! Doll artist, Lila Wills (aka Esoteric Dolls) contributed to this booklet and helped produce the micro mini outfits that the dolls wear in the booklet.
I’ve only seen snippets of the booklet online through Instagram but I think the only way to get a copy is at the SSENSE pop-up store location in Seoul (if only I still lived there!). If anybody happens to get a copy please share what’s inside!

The Blythe bag features a close-up of a Blythe doll (I can’t pinpoint which doll this is so if anybody knows let me know) giving you a side-eye. It’s printed on a faux-leather pink shoulder bag with a fixed shoulder strap, zipper, and zip and patch pocket lining the inside. It’s super cute! The bag runs for $370! If anybody wants to get me an early birthday gift...

Lila Wills (aka Esoteric Dolls) also participated in the drop 4 of the ‘I’m Sorry’ by Petra Collins collection featuring Mimi Wade by recreating each of the clothing pieces, check out her post here. For drop 5, she recreated a Blythe-size dress of the SSENSE Exclusive White JennyFax Edition Puff Sleeve Minidress and the SSENSE Exclusive Pink JennyFax Edition Blythe Doll Print Bag.
She also recreated fashion packs of the ‘I’m Sorry’ collection featuring clothing from the fashion line. However, from what I’ve seen online it looks like those are only available exclusively at the SSENSE pop-up at 032c Gallery Seoul. Maybe they will make there way online eventually (along with the zine) for international customers.

Petra Collins also collaborated with Mini Wade to create a Blythe T-shirt featuring Brenda’s Extraordinary Day!
