Meet “Momoiro No Hime”! The 24th Anniversary Blythe Doll!
CWC exclusive 24th Anniversary Neo Blythe doll has been unveiled!
I should’ve made a bet in my last Neo Blythe Doll announcement because I just knew the next doll illustration would be for an anniversary Blythe doll! I actually wrote a paragraph about me trying to guess the anniversary doll but I deleted that part last minute, lol!
Blythe’s anniversary is somewhere in the Summer. I suspect June-July because a lot of anniversary dolls are announced and released around that time frame. However, I’ve seen dolls released as late as September. So, if anybody knows the exact date of Blythe’s anniversary, let me know.
Anyway, CWC exclusive 24th Anniversary Neo Blythe is “Momoiro No Hime”! “Momoiro No Hime” translates to “Pink Princess” in Japanese and was designed in collaboration with kimono designer and author, Chimachoco.
This "Pink Princess" is a harmonious blend of traditional kimono grace and whimsical Lolita charm, creating a truly unique "Neo-Kawaii" style. Adorned in pink and frills, she's the epitome of sweetness and style, ready to add a touch of magic to your collection.

My first thoughts
Even though I’m not into kimono-style dolls (I don’t hate kimonos, I just don’t freak out over a doll in a kimono if that makes sense), I can appreciate their beauty and craftsmanship. “Momoiro No Hime” is soooo stunning! Finally, a black haired doll! Black haired Blythe dolls are a rarity! The closest we had to a dark-haired doll was with “Jade Garden”, who was released late last year but she had dark brown hair with a purple tint. We haven’t had a Blythe doll with true black hair available since 2015 with “Check It Out”! So, we’ve been long overdue for a black haired doll! Compare that to all the blonde-haired dolls they’ve released…
The “hime-cut” is interesting. The only other doll I could find with a proper “hime-cut” was “Hoshinonamida Hime”, released back in 2011. I know the “hime-cut” is a pretty popular haircut in the Japanese fashion scene, so it’s cool to see a new doll release with this style of hair.
After looking at Chimachoco’s Instagram page, I fell in love with their style! As they mentioned, it’s very whimsical and kawaii, as a lover of all things kawaii, I’m obsessed with this style! All the tiny details like the ribbons, flowers, frill, lace, and those crystal gems at the center of the kimono! I hope the bunny on the kimono is a bunny crystal! Speaking of, that bunny bag is too CUTE!
The blush! OMG! Her blush placement is the type I LOVE! It’s similar to the blush “Silent Lucretia” had. I also think the special eye chips they chose are going to look so pretty on her with her makeup and hair type. I can’t wait to see her final specs and first photos!
With “Momoiro No Hime” being an anniversary doll, I thought they should’ve included another outfit or at least more clothing items. Based on the illustration, she only has a cape/shawl piece, a bag, and two head accessories. I feel like she needs a dress to switch into when she’s not wearing her kimono. However, some might feel that the kimono itself is worth not having another outfit. “Lady Camellia”, released back in April 2016, also only came with a kimono but she wasn’t an anniversary doll.
Overall, I think “Momoiro No Hime” is a cute and beautiful doll! I think she could be one of my birthday doll contenders! However, I live in the United States, and given the crazy tariff situation, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get her. Plus, anniversary dolls are a bit more difficult to obtain (more on that below). Honestly, I don’t know what’s going to happen with Blythe doll collectors based in the US and all the tariffs. If you’ve ordered a doll from Junie Moon recently, let me know how your situation and experience have been with trying to buy dolls overseas.
