In case you didn’t see this coming, I decided to turn this Substack into a Blythe blog/Substack! I wanted to start a Substack as a way to create outside my main blog but I never quite understood what my Substack would be about, I just took a leap and started one. I thought I would post cozy content about my hobbies and things but Mooeyandfriends has never had a niche so I never restricted myself from posting what I wanted to over there. I found it difficult trying to figure out what type of content I wanted to post here which is why I would go weeks and sometimes months without updating my Substack.
As you can tell, I already took down most of my previous posts and I’m slowly rebranding to transform this Substack into a place to discuss all things related to Blythe dolls!
Not to sound dramatic but I’ve become obsessed with all things Blythe dolls in the past few months and I don’t see it fading anything soon. Because Blythe dolls are so niche there is very limited content that stays updated on Blythe news that isn’t in a different language or currently active, Blythestagram seems like the best place. But I’m a blogger at heart and wanted a blog-like space where I could openly nerd out about Blythe dolls without judgment! haha
Going forward, I’ll only be posting content about Blythe dolls. Posts like my thoughts on new doll releases, relevant Blythe doll news, history, doll tips, reviews, unboxings, advice, and more! I’ll also be continuing my Blythe Bites series where I chat about my experience of “playing” with dolls again.
I also plan on sharing Blythe doll crochet patterns for paid members in the future. If you’ve been following me, you know I crochet a lot and have been crocheting clothing for my doll for a while and want to share some of my clothing and accessory crochet patterns with other Blythe doll crocheters.
Even though I’ve only had my first Blythe doll since 2007-08 I’m new to the current Blythe doll fandom and still learning. I want this place to be a safe space for beginners and long-time Blythe collectors to come together and discuss. If I ever make a mistake, feel free to leave a kind message so I can correct any information I may have gotten wrong, or if you have any tips or advice that are better feel free to let me know too! I’m open to hearing what those who have been in this hobby longer than me have to say.
Also, yes! I acquired a new Blythe doll! I’ll be writing a whole post about her where I introduce her and explain how I got her so just you wait! For now, you can admire her beauty in the photos above! haha
To all my current subscribers, I’m sorry if you signed up hoping for one thing and got another. Thank you for subscribing when you did, you motivated me to keep writing on Substack when I thought about giving up. However, I completely understand if you want to unsubscribe. You can follow my main blog, Mooeyandfriends for my regular content. If you like the type of posts that were published before I became a crazy doll lady then you will hopefully love my posts over on Mooeyandfriends, I promise not to go doll crazy over there! If you plan on staying, thank you for staying! Stay tuned for more posts coming this year!
