The first photographs of Bijou Brilliant have arrived!
The final specs and first official photographs of “Bijou Brilliant” are here! I think she looks precious! I adore her stock outfit, and I think her hair is super cute! There is one flaw I had with her final reveal, based on other relations to her earlier this week, I don’t think I’m the only one with this concern.
Sorry, it took me so long to post this! This doll news was released last week but I try to only post 2 posts on this Substack a week. However, I feel like new doll releases should go up as soon as it is announced, but last week I was a bit tired so I gave myself a few days until I wrote up this post. In the meantime, more photos of Bijou were released so we were treated to more picture of her!

My thoughts
I think Bijou Brilliant is beautiful! Her short white hair, special eye chips, and stock are gorgeous! I think her “yellowish white” hair looks different from UR4 Me’s “platinum blonde with a touch of yellow hair”. Bijou Brilliant hair looks more white, and UR4 Me hair is more platinum blonde. Of course, this is just based on these photographs. We will see once they’re side-by-side for a better comparison.
All the details on her dress are amazing! I’m also obsessed with her tulle apron! The shoes they chose for her even suit her outfit well. I kind of wish they had given her an extra accessory. She looks like she’s missing a bag or something. I will say that I even think she looks great in the creepy pink eyes, and I never think that of Blythe dolls! haha
Like many in the Blythe community, I think Bijou’s makeup is her only flaw. It just looks boring and too similar to past dolls’ makeup. I wish they had given her some sparkly, metallic or even dark makeup. Also, to have not giving her a special gem as a special pull string was a missed opportunity.
