If you follow me on Blythestagram then you may have noticed that I posted daily leading up to Valentine’s Day. I haven’t posted daily on my Blythestagram since I started this Instagram account back in October. I think Valentine’s Day is a cute holiday and a cute way to show love to those whom you love especially to your dolls which is what I did for my Blythe dolls!
This was an epic week packed with a lot of content from IG reels, cute crochet outfits, my first crochet pattern on my Substack, and a Galentine’s Day party! Let’s dive in!
I kicked off the week by posting a short video of me making a resin chocolate lava cake that I got in an MGA Miniverse Make It Mini blind ball. These little bakes are fun to make but because they use resin they take forever to set! If anybody has any tips on how to make these dry quicker please let me know.
As a Valentine’s Day gift for my dolls, I crocheted each of them a new outfit. For Lavender, I made her this adorable dress! It’s a pink off-the-shoulder dress with puffy sleeves, polka dots, and a rose in the center. I’ve been wanting to make another puffy-sleeve dress ever since I made this dress for May for Thanksgiving. Even though sleeves are annoying to get on and off Blythe dolls, I want to play with more fun sleeve designs in the future as they are so cute!

This week was also special because I posted the heart-shaped bow bag crochet pattern, the first pattern on Substack! All of my crochet patterns are under a paywall but you can get a free 7-day trial anytime so if you’re ever interested in one of my crochet patterns you can unlock them as part of a free trial. However, you would be helping me out a lot by becoming a paid subscriber.
For the second Instagram reel, I made the Target Bullseye sugar cookies I received last month. These turned out so cute! They actually sell these dog-shaped cookies at Target stores in the US!

For May’s outfit, I made her a coral playsuit/romper with a heart on the front. I’ve been wanting to make a romper piece like this for a while and I remember seeing one with a heart on Instagram which served as inspiration for this look. The romper pattern still needs some work, I want to make it look looser but for it being my first romper, I’m proud of it. I wasn’t originally going to add the red details but I’m glad I did as it makes this outfit look extra cute!
I ended the week by posting this cute Instagram reel of me setting up a little Galentine’s Day party with the miniature food I made in the week and other treats! I had so much fun setting this up. I even made them little Valentines! The “table” is a plastic box that I use to store all the miniature food I have with a piece of fabric and taped it around the box. I placed Winter on a tub of moisturizer because I didn’t have any doll furniture, I just used what I had around my room. haha

I wasn’t really happy with Winter’s outfit. I loved the dress style itself but because I used hot pink yarn the dress didn’t photograph well as it came out too bright. The light pink yarn around the sleeves are flowers but you can’t see them that well in the pictures. I had originally designed a shrug but I kept having problems with the pattern so I just scraped the shrug idea but I want to revisit making a cropped shrug in the future.
Overall, this was a busy week but I had a blast preparing all this Valentine’s/Galentine’s Day content but next time I do this for a holiday or whatever I’m going to need to prepare more in advance. haha
